You may not have heard of the phrase electronic mail services before, but you have undoubtedly used them. An electronic mail service is the fancy way of saying e-mail! Almost everyone uses e-mail these days from kids to local business professionals. Electronic mail services are not quite as convenient as text messaging or instant messaging, but e-mail is not being phased out by newer technologies by any means. There are some things that cannot be relayed via text messages due to their length and instant messaging cannot handle a lot of file sharing. Many cell phones can send e-mails these days, so e-mail users have the portability of a mobile device without sacrificing memory space. For these reasons, electronic mail services reign supreme in the world of communications. Lots of e-mail accounts are free and associated with internet service providers. Microsoft Outlook is the official electronic mail service of Office Software packages, but the company also offers Hotmail to service those who do not own their software programs. Basically every internet service provider has an electronic mail program and most local telephone companies partner with these local companies. For example, AT and T is affiliated with Yahoo Mail. Google is not an internet service provider, but their e-mail system known as G-mail is a very popular free service for corporate and personal user accounts.
