Google Launches Effort of Startups and Entrepreneurs

Thinking of starting a business? Or maybe you already have one, but you have yet to take it off the ground? Whatever the case is, if you're in need of resources for your venture, be sure to check out Google for Entrepreneurs.

Google Entrepreneurs is an initiative by the search giant to help budding entrepreneurs and startup founders build successful businesses. Its website is full of videos and information all designed to teach and empower founders (or aspiring founders) to take their business or idea to the next level. Google for Entrepreneurs lets businessmen and women "discover local programs and online resources to launch and scale" their business.

Aside from its own resources, Google has also partnered up with numerous startup-centric organizations and initiatives including Women 2.0, Global K-Startup, Le Camping, and Startup Weekend to get their messages and resources across several countries and local areas.

Participate in Programs

As previously mentioned, Google for Entrepreneurs has teamed up with a number of organizations around the world to teach and empower entrepreneurs to grow their business. Take a look at some of the programs below:

Startup Weekend - Think you can't start a business in 54 hours? Startup Weekend thinks otherwise. Startup Weekends are 54-hour events where people share ideas, build teams, and start companies all in one-you guessed it-weekend.

Women Entrepreneurs on the Web - As its name clearly states, Women Entrepreneurs on the Web (WeOW) is a program launched by Google to empower female entrepreneurs to "build their online presence, and utilize Google products to launch and scale their buisnesses."

Women 2.0 - Similar to WeOW, Women 2.0 helps women tech founders connect with fellow entrepreneurs to help take their business to the next level. Women 2.0 holds an event called "Founder Friday" in multiple locations around the world to allow women to meet new people and learn new things.

1871 - Based in the Chicago area, 1871 is a coworking space that offers programming resources and connections for startups. It paves the way for founders to build programs and meet fellow entrepreneurs.

NewME Accelerator - This is a twelve-week program to help underrepresented groups (African-Americans, Latinos, and Women) launch tech-related businesses. The program lets participants get mentorships from people in Silicon Valley to help them grow their startups.

Global K Startup - This is a Korea-based competition for startups that "aims to help Korean startups go global." There are currently 30 teams competing to build the best business, and in October, Google will pick 5 teams to head to London and Silicon Valley to connect with Venture Capitalists, startups and other SV-based participants.
