Top 5 Easy Costumes for Kids

Halloween is less than a week away, but you haven't been able to get a costume yet? Don't fret, there is still away to get cheap and easy costumes to have your children wear on Halloween with no problems at all. Some of these costumes will cost you very little, some may not even cost you anything at all, it just takes a little bit of innovation and your kid will still be just as happy.

1. Athlete - The reason this one could be so cheap and easy is the fact that so many kids already participate in youth sports so they have uniforms there that they can easily utilize as costumes for that October night. Put your children in their sports uniforms, give them a bag and let them go trick or treating. If you want to change it up just a bit, maybe some face paint to make them a 'ghost athlete'.

2. Princess - This is for the little girls out there that you may not be able to find a full costume for; or maybe you can't afford a full costume. Odds are the little girl has a nice dress somewhere from some kind of family occasion you have attended. All you have to do is dress her up real nice in the dress and some nice shoes, add a tiara from the local store to complete the look and you're good to go!

3. Ghost/Ghoul - Yes, the good old fashion ghost costume makes an appearance on the list. What makes this costume so easy to make is it simply needs an old white sheet that you have lying around and some white face paint. Cut three holes in the sheet to allow your child to see and breathe, then paint the visible areas of the face white to complete the ghostly appearance.

4. Businessman - Does your son have a nice suit around that they wore for a big family occasion or celebration? A nice shirt, pants and a tie can go to making your little man into a business man for Halloween. Have them strut around, maybe add a briefcase or notebook into the costume to make it that much more official.

5. Mummy - All you'll need for the mummy look is some gauze or ace bandage, face paint and some creative thinking to make the best mummy around. Wrap the child in the gauze or ace bandage and paint the face black or a dark color in the areas that are showing. Make the look even more realistic by letting your child do something you always told them not to do: roll around in some dirt!

Happy Halloween!
