In order to become the best baseball or softball player you can possibly be, you need to get youre timing down. You might be the best fielder in the world, but if you want to be a complete player, you need to know how to hit. You might already know how to hit, but the key is taking it to the next level. Regardless of what level youre at; little league, junior high school, or high school, theres always going to be a level higher. And those higher levels are always going to have more competition. You might soon find yourself going from a big fish in a small pond to a small fish in an ocean. That being the case, you need to do everything in your power to improve your skills. When it comes to hitting, the best thing you can do is visit the batting cages. If youre not sure of the location for local batting cages, simply look them up online. Once you head to down to the cage, evaluate the situation. How many cages are there? How many speeds do they offer? How much is it for one round of balls? How many balls do you get in one round? Are there long lines? Do they offer helmets for protection or do you have to bring your own? Do they offer just baseball, or baseball and softball? Is there a machine that will mix in curve balls and change-ups or do these cages only throw fastballs? These are the questions you must ask yourself when visiting your local batting cage. If the facilities dont offer what youre looking for, youre going to have a tough decision to make. On one hand, there is no reason to waste your money at a place where youre not going to be happy. On the other hand, is it worth traveling farther away to get what youre looking for? Are you more likely to use the closer batting cage on a regular basis? This is something you must decide on your own.
