With the internet, instant messaging, and e-mail allows for timely messages to traverse the world in a matter of seconds. However, there are times when e-mail is not sufficient and mailing services should be consulted instead. For example, packages can not be sent through the internet and must be delivered through plane or mail truck. On a more personal note, even a hand written letter or card can make someones day more than a quickly typed message. Taking the time to write a letter will show that person he or she is important to the sender and the calligraphy can help convey personality, humor, and emotion far more than typed word ever can. All it takes is a simple postcard or letter and submitting it to be sent through the local mailing services. Just as e-mail has attachments for documents or pictures, a packaged item can be sent along with the letter through the service. Receiving a package in the mail will often bring a sense of joy and wonderment. First there is mystery. Who sent it? Why? What was the occasion? What could be inside? The recipient then picks the package carefully and opens it a smile across his or her face as there is a loving gift from a dear one: grandma, grandpa, a distanced lover, a childhood friend, a son away for college, an order off a website and the possibilities of the mystery sender are endless.
