They can send your name and whatever information they have or have made up to government agencies that will put your name on a flyer and post you as writing checks that bounce or as being wanted for not paying your bill. If you think that you can go to court to seek redress for your wronged name, think again. Local collection law attorneys have more weight in the court hierarchy than many judges do. They will ask a judge for a court ordered injunction in order to get you to pay them whatever they say you owe.
