Despite technological advances, artificial stone is still very used in our days. The main reason for it is that clay, the construction material used, is widespread in time and space. Raw materials for obtaining artificial stone are burnt clay with quartz sand added. The mixture is pressed into regular molds and burned at high temperatures, obtaining a ceramic product known as burnt brick. Depending on their destination, full bricks and hollow bricks are made, shaped vertical or horizontal. Quality conditions, governed by rules and technical instructions, refer especially to the deviations of form, structure and mechanical properties. The artificial stone manufacturers are very strict about the quality conditions of their work. Among the most important ones can be mentioned: surface flatness and regularity of shape, size limits gauge deviations, deformations and appearance of the edges. The quality of the stone depends directly on the quality of used materials, the quality of technological conditions and, of course, execution. The local artificial stone manufacturers know that the human factor has a major share in making the stone material, in the light of experience, reliability and the attention of details of the contractor.
