When looking for something fun cheap and re-creative to do one of the common ideas is to find local docks, or boat docks to spend a nice day or two utilizing for some on water or in water activities. There are many different types of docks which allow different types of activities such as swimming, diving, boating, fishing, or inner tubing. What are the different kinds of docks which may be found locally or near my area? It really depends on where you live along with what types of bodies of water are located around you to know which types of docks you may find in your area. Local docks need water to function because docks are the supporting areas which allow boats to get from land to water without the risk of your boats running away without you. Other types of on water vehicles can also use a dock to get into the water such as submarines, jet skies, inner tubes, and more. Some of the different kinds of docks which can be found all around the world are as the following; Boat docks is the general term which refers to the most common type of dock found around the world. Boat docks are traditionally found connecting land to the side of a river. Boaters can drive their boats down to a boat ramp which is either a metal or cement slab which slowly lowers from the road into the river. Vehicles can slowly maneuver boats down the ramp by driving slowly backwards so only the boat is partially in the water. The boat is often tied to a floating sidewalk which also connects the sidewalk to over the river.
