Local museums can offer a large variety of interesting artifacts that can be quite intriguing, even to those of us who are not history buffs. Local museums in most towns or cities offer local history, state history and a vast array of world history in most cases. So before you write this idea off as an even more boring idea than sitting at home, consider this: There is more than one kind of museum. Check your directory or search online for a listing of local museums. You may be surprised to find several in your immediate area as well as others within a short distance of wherever you might live. Local Museums are typically open in most cases seven days a week, or at the least on Mondays through Saturdays. Local Museums may charge a nominal fee or may even be free to visit. Contact your Chamber of Commerce for more information and inquire about local museums who might offer discounts or coupons for reduced entry prices. This makes local museums a unique and economical activity close to home.
