Consider this, it is a hot day in the valley and you approach your automobile, in a desperate to escape the heat. As you open the door to your auto you are met with a burst of hot air as it has accumulated and been trapped inside for the majority of the day. You get in and rush to put down your windows as you are burned by your leather seats that have also soaked up the heat from the sun. The seat belt buckle too provides a bit of a burn as you attempt to put it on. The next step is to start that air conditioning, the only thing that will make the long commute home bearable. But minutes and minutes go by and the air does not turn cold. As you sit in traffic you fiddle with the temperature, but nothing works. Your Air conditioner in your auto is broken, and the rest of your drive home is spent cursing slow drivers as beads of sweat drop down from your forehead. It is early Monday morning and your weekend was extended to include late Sunday night. You cringe at the sound of your morning alarm and consider all of your options. Would it be possible to call in sick? How bad would it look if I showed up late today? If I stay an extra hour I should be able to come in an hour late right? Eventually you realize that your only option is to get out of bed and get ready for work. It is a cold and rainy morning so getting out of bed hurts a little more this morning. You drag your feet as you get ready and head out the door. The cold morning air and moisture from the rain are not the greetings you preferred. You make a dash for your car and turn on the heater immediately, giving it adequate time to warm up, but it does not. Your heater is broken. The warm relief never comes and your commute is spent shivering and hating your life.
