5 Things You Should Do Before Summer Comes to an End

Like it or not, summer is about to end its reign on us. Days are about to get shorter again, and colder climates should be arriving soon.

Almost everyone has a summer to-do list of stuff that they need to care of, or places that they plan on seeing during the summer season. If you haven't checked off every item on your list just yet, then you better get on it, as you only have a few more weeks before autumn arrives.

However, if you were able to accomplish all the tasks that you set out do in the beginning of the season, and you're just sitting pretty waiting for the seasons to change, then check out our Top 5 list below of other things that you can do for the rest of the season.

Don't worry. We've steered clear from the summer clichés like going to the beach or working out. The items below are some not so common last-minute ideas of things to do while summer is still upon us.

1. Throw a party - Labor Day weekend may be over, but that doesn't mean there isn't any reason to round up the gang and have a barbecue or party. Call your friends and relatives and have one last shebang before the season ends. Not only will it serve as an awesome way to welcome fall, but having a party might actually bring you and your loved ones closer.

2. Finish a good book - During the summer, some people prefer to go out there and just bask in the sun all season long. Sometimes though, it wouldn't hurt to sit inside for a day or two and curl up with a good book. If you haven't done any summer reading this season, then it's not too late to pick up a good book. Check the bestseller list, or ask your friends for recommendations on stuff that you can read.

3. Go to a spa - You're probably thinking that you've done enough relaxing for the summer, but it's still a good idea to get a massage right before the season ends. Having a spa day or even just a massage can put you in the right mental, physical, and emotional state to welcome Fall (which as most of us know is the season of change).

4. Be a volunteer - Have you done any good deeds this season? If not, then it certainly isn't too late. Find a cause that's close to your heart-it could be the environment, animals, people-and do something about it. Don't just drop a few bucks into a donation box. Take action. Head to the nearest shelter or foundation office and ask if there's anything that you can do to help. Volunteer work can do wonders for you and the cause that you're helping, so be sure to do a little of it, even for just a day or a few hours.

5. Clean your house - Don't let the phrase "spring cleaning" stop you from doing some tidying up during the summer. You've probably accumulated some junk during the summer, so be sure to clean up and get rid of them, so that you can start the season fresh.
