November 29 is Pay a Blogger Day

FACT: There are numerous bloggers out there that put tons of effort into their posts (ahem). A lot of brainstorming, research, and editing goes into delivering useful and insightful articles for the World Wide Web, and truth be told, some bloggers just aren't appreciated enough. Sure, occasionally hitting the LIKE, Tweet, or Share button might do the trick, but if you're an avid reader of blogs, ask yourself this question: Have you ever REALLY showed your favorite bloggers just how much you love their witty and intelligent posts? If the answer is no, then here's your chance.

Introducing Pay a Blogger Day. On November 29, every web surfer, reader, critic, and troll is encouraged to give back to bloggers for enriching their RSS feeds. You can participate in this initiative by donating cash, buying a blogger's E-Books and products, enabling them to earn more through affiliated links, or by hitting the "Flattr" button (more on this later). How you decide to help out is up to you, as long as you give bloggers the appreciation that they deserve.

Here's what its official website has to say:

Bloggers are seldom after just fame and fortune. But they do give up an awful lot of their spare time to make their readers smarter, happier or simply more efficient in killing time. Many fans are very good at reciprocating by spreading the word, commenting, buying bloggers' wares or even making donations. But it's a tiny drop in the ocean compared to what we spend on ad-filled magazines or tips to waiters that are unfriendly if not rude. So what if ALL of us gave something back to bloggers, even for just one day. Buy their T-shirt, the book with affiliate links or make a donation. They've sure deserved it.

Pay a Blogger Day is brought to us by Flattr, a European startup that introduced "the world's first micro-payment system." In 2010, the company promoted the "Flattr" button, a social button that enables readers to donate money to the blogger whenever it is clicked. You register with the site and decide on an amount that you can pay each month. That amount will then be divided between the number of Flattr buttons that you click, and the funds will be sent to bloggers each month.

Now if you love the idea of sending love to your favorite bloggers, but aren't a big fan of setting up a Flattr account (after all, not all blogs have the Flattr button, yet), then Pay a Blogger Day is right up your alley. This coming November 29, instead of getting an overpriced cup of coffee why not put the money towards the people that make your online experience more fruitful? You know they deserve it.
