Dr. Young received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Wellesley College in 1996, and her Master of Arts and M.D. degree from Boston University School of Medicine. She completed her M.D. degree in 2005. After which, she was a resident in anatomical and clinical pathology at NewYork-Presbyterian and Weill Cornell Medicine from 2005 to 2009. She then completed a fellowship in oncological surgical pathology and a fellowship in gastrointestinal pathology from Memorial Sloan Kettering. She was then recruited to NYU Grossman School of Medicine as a clinical assistant professor, where she was a clinical associate professor. Dr. Young also worked at Hackensack Pathology Associates at the Hackensack University Medical Center. She is a boarded pathologist in anatomic and clinical pathology. During her role as a clinical pathologist at NYU, she was also Director of the Pathology residency program and has served on a number of NYU committees. During the course of her academic/clinical career, she has published 12 peer- reviewed research articles focused on tumor cell expression as well as the mechanisms by which CD 40 activation can induce P53-dependent vascular endothelial cell growth factors. Several of her papers focus on multiple myeloma specifically how tumor cell fusions can lead to vaccination strategies for multiple myeloma. More recent papers have focused on the expression of specific call factors in poorly differentiated neuroendocrine carcinomas. In her role at Weill Cornell Medicine, she will contribute to the clinical, educational and research activities of the division of anatomical pathology specifically the gastrointestinal and liver pathology service.
